Mijas town lies at an altitude of 425 meters and has a population of 19,000.
The city might at first glance remind of one strongly marked tourist town, but walk around a bit, you will quickly find out that that's not the case.
You can experience the crooked streets and colourful patios that have made the famous Mijas. At the square you can visit the museum Carromato the Max, which is decorated in a wagon. All the exhibits are specific in that they are within their field as the world’s smallest.
You can also see Mijas' most famous steep street Calle de San Sebastián, Spain, or visit the only square bullring. The arena was built in 1784 and is thus Spain's second-oldest bullring.
