Nerja is a pleasant town, which lays only a half hour drive east of Chilches. It's easy to get to Nerja, on the highway the whole way. Never the less Nerja town itself, could prove to be a bit difficult to navigate with its one-way streets.
Nerja Balcon de Europa  Balcon de Europa has spectacular views over the sea and the coast to both sides.
There are wonderful caves, where the city's residents and guests sit and enjoy a quiet cup of coffee in the sun.
Beaches in Nerja
There are several beaches around Nerja, Burriana which are probably the biggest, with wide sandy beaches and many restaurants and shops. Here you can find a Swedish run diving centre.
Stalactite cave Cueva de Nerja
Put your head back and look at the ceiling, 32 feet over your head in Nerja´s huge stalactite cave.
Colour spotlights enlighten the colours on the gray-white stalactites that hang from the ceiling, and discreetly classical music sounds from hidden speakers. You can actually get to hear live classical music in the stalactite cave in Nerja.
One of the halls, Sala de Cascada (Waterfall Hall) has been made as a concert hall, with classical concerts, opera and ballet thought out the summer.
Nerja historically
Nerja historic centre is located on the Balcon de Europa, which was built around the year 1487. The old castle from the 9th century now works as a lookout point. Beside the Balcon de Europa is the old "El Salvador" church from the 17th century.
